um, a little something that got me thinking today

Today is the Republic day and thusly a Holiday.

I was watching Dr.APJ meet a bunch of school kids on CNN IBN. He was ranting about his usual India 2020 (twenty/twenty as he puts it) , dreaming, corruption, prayers and books. I was transfixed for a while watching him speak in his usual slow and um, granpa like way.

I wish i had a Granpa like him or something who can talk to me like that. Ive never seen both my Grandfathers, my dad's dad - um, even my dad did not get to see him properly (he passed on when dad was 8 or 9 ) and mum's who had passed on about 10 years after his Sambandhi when my mum was around 11 or 12.

I dont want the Gyaan, dont get me wrong, i get enough of it from my other sources :), heck, i cud use an old man in the house who'll do nothing but sit around reading papers or weeding gardens maybe shoot me crap like what Dr.APJ says on TV.

And shit man, i dig his voice, i really do

HERE's nother thing- I was watching TV again this afternoon - saw this amazing Tennis match between David Nalbandian (the cold looking argentine) and the new guy from Cyprus called Marcuso Baghdhadi (baag daa deee). The unseeded guy won the match against the 4th seeded argentine to reach the final.

Heres the funda - while this guy looked like,um, 28 or 30 years of age, with nose hair, a small thoppai and all - Vijay Amirthraj told me something that really shocked me. This Baghdadi guy was 20 Years Old !!

No Shit, 20 !!

Guess what, I am 21 ! Whats more, Sharapova is 18, Sania is 19, Irafan Pathan is 20, Pankaj Advani is 19, Armaan Ebrahim is 16 the list goes on.. (Scarlett Johanssen is 20 too)

While, i was 16 or 17, even 18 or 19, i always thought, heck, whats all this hullabaloo about tendulkar's debut at 16, when Iam 21 I'l show em.

I guess Iam one of the ordinary ones :))
