Random Thoughts !!!

1. ManUtd 2 - West Brom 1. Two goals from Saha. Rooney still is the best footballer on the planet (Henry is the BIGGEST @#@$@$, buhhaaa haaa - He scored twice, brilliantly, the other day. He is still a @#@$@$)

2. Chelsea have written out a cheque for Mikail Ballack, who will join them next season to become the highest paid footballer in the history of the game. (Bayern openly admit that their own offer cant even near chelsea's :) ). Hail Roman Abramovich !!! EPL surely is floating in Russian Oil.

3. Saw Rang de basanti on DVD. Gud movie, great songs . Luved it :)

Onto serious things - well too many of em actually. so will write separately on each of them as and when the opportune moments arrive.

Life & Choice

Staying up after 12 is taking its toll on me once again. heres a bit of,um, thought

Its amazing what 'Choice' does to you in Life. Its like all the junta do the same damn things for a few years and then finally what they 'choose' to become in the 'next' stage brings so much change to what they do and what they will become.

It is true that most junta do not really have or WANT more than 1 choice, but imagine the magnitude of difference it makes.

Imagine three guys:

All write the CAT 1 year - All get raped that year.

Tom writes CAT the next year - gets into IIMA and goes to join HSBC in HongKong after 2 years.

Dick says, fuck the CAT and writes GRE to join a Ph D program in Wisconsin (I know wisconsin is a wee bit too far, nevertheless just for the effect) and finally ends up with a Professorship in the university of Alaska at Anchorage ;)

and Harry says he'll dish it all and join TCS. He does and then moves to Verizon the next year, Satyam the next year and so on till he finally becomes 26 and 'settles down' (techie term :) ) in CTS.

(Note: Iam purposely avoiding Thermax or Reliance just to keep the discussion dispassionate and fair)

Note that tom, dick & harry had pretty much the same amount of grey cells and all of em were pretty vague about what they wanted to do before, say, going to college.

The point here is that this 'choice' is majorly influenced by things such as 'peer group', 'location of college' and other,um, smaller things that we dont think about. But imagine what difference it makes to what you become.

But what the heck, my whole argument might just be completely wrong because - a guys' formative years only begins after he leaves college and enters the real world.

But, i can counter it saying - if a guy joins a phD program, there is very little he can do in terms of thinking of anything else for the next 5 years - his,um, 'choice' is already made.

IT guys have it a bit easy, they can quit any job anytime they want and sit and home and think for a week. the next week they have another job :) of they want to.

Hmmmm, Iam sleepy - iam sure it shows up in my analysis of the whole issue.

Basic Instinct 2 :)

As the title suggests, the, ahem, sequel is here.

Oh yeah, with Dr.Catherine, the clit shot, lesbian kissing, red negligees & the works.

Trouble is that Sharon Stone was like 40 when the original version came along, now shes pushing 50 (A cursory google search revealed that she was born in 1958, so thats,um, close to 50). So whatever,um, fun you derive out of watching this new promo gets lost with the bad taste that gets in your mouth.

Life in the movies is truely bad indeed - I cant imagine what despicable state of affairs pushed Sharon stone to do a movie like this, with this dicky hero and all.

Alas, it is a wicked world that we dwell in.

About abortion rights & a few other things

I was reading a blog the other day and there was this mention of this other person - who had her birthday on valentine's day and who iam supposed to know about. I was like looking at this blog today, to find out who it was.

The first post i got to see was something on abortion rights - which ended with a majorly feminist declaration which said something like: " Fucking Idiots ! lets go rape some men and let them struggle with the babies and then they'll understand ".

Coo!! what the heck do girls think of themselves these days !! :) whoever that was

I have a few things to say about this whole abortion thing as well. Here goes:

Rules & Regulations concerning any issue like this should be "pro choice" (So, i side with the feminist junta here :) )

But if forced to commit to something (Like changing a law) , the decision must be made from "a moral high ground" - as in 'I hate buggers' or 'Adultery is a sin'.

Point is - people commit adultery all the time and there are far more fags & lezbos in the world than any1 can count. So, if people from the old school (as in purists) believe that endorsing Abortions is like endorsing 'accidental pregnancy' (Any1 care to explain 'accidental' - in this context :) ? ) or endorsing things that are (and should be) considered Taboo, then i believe that they have a point.

Part of human tendency is to exploit any such 'rules'(here the pro-abortion bill) , to aid all of
its,um, 'wrong' activities. So if Abortion is endorsed then the fear that 'accidental pregnancy', 'teen pregnancy', 'moral degradation' etc will become mainstream in, say, 20 years down the line becomes very real

(As in some mum & dad discussing their 15 year old daughter's pregnancy & abortion over breakfast in 2030). And Iam sure that as soon as abortion is made mainstream, umpteen gadgets/pills/contraptions will make the process much more simple, healthy & accessible - adding fuel to this fire.

This is not exaggerated - Today, my 12 year old Cousin (a guy) grows up watching emraan hashmi & udita goswami eating each other's lips , thrice a day - while i got to see such things only when i went to college. Imagine Kamasutra III making a debut in the theatre next door.

I know directors & actors will argue about these things as "Denial of freedom of expression", "purity of art" and all - their point of view (Much the same as Feminists saying that Anti Abortion rules are denying women of their "Reproductive freedom" - In this case they are somewhat right, but once again it is their point of view) - the law makers have a greater responsiblity - In the long run, touchy issues have to be considered.

No one likes to go to sleep worried that his/her granddaughter will not think twice about getting
pregnant ( Iam sure she'll pass billboards saying "An abortion for as low as 30$ - Now have all the fun you want, what the heck, its only 30 dollars" on her way to school daily ).

If you dont get it its like this - A 40 year old today will not discuss the issue of guys being gay. We, as 20 year olds joke about it, discuss it all the time - guys who will be 15 or 20 in 2030 will say, 'hey what the heck, lets try buggering each other once' (Much like 16 year olds making out, 'necking' on those MMS clips these days) "

So thats that. No - its much more than teaching men a lesson by raping them, thereby making them pregnant. LOL

Last week in review

(Thats the corniest post name i can think of)

1. Restarted my 'workouts' after growing concern over my,um,growing weight

2. Watched sarkar again on DVD. Two people that stuck out - KK Menon & Katrina Kaif (who looks eatable, but cant act or even lip sync for all the nuts in the world)

3. Spoke to Suchan from TCS after about 6 months, then spoke to Sriram from IITM after about 4 months (on Google talk, was cool) about PIVs, PhDs, Greece, Jobs & grants

4. Ben reading lotsa repeats like "Pigs have wings" & "The Interpreter of maladies".

5. Listened to all the latest Emraan Hashmi'ish tracks that have been the rage in recent times.

Himesh Reshmiyya sings (shall we say, MOOOs) like a wild buffalo in heat. He must be castrated first and then shot in the head to end his misery :)

Nevertheless, a few of his songs are catchy, no doubt

6. Man U won 2 -1 thru a last minute own goal against wigan. Cool :). I wish Joe Cole joins Man U. He ROCKS BIG time - possibly the classiest guy ive seen since Rooney.

7. Dana Reeves (Christopher's wife) died of lung cancer today. After what she & and her husband went through and what they stood for and fought for - this seems a gruesome end. Cancer, really is a dastardly disease to have.

Lest I end on a morbid note, I'l mention something cheerful.

Iam still in love - the more i think about it, the more iam flustered by how impossible & daunting it all seems :)

But what the heck, lets see ;)

You're Beautiful

"You're Beautiful"

My life is brilliant.
My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,Flying high,
Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.You're beautiful, it's true.

I saw your face in a crowded place,And I don't know what to do,'
Cause I'll never be with you.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.You're beautiful, it's true.

There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,I will never be with you.

-- This amazing song titled "you're beautiful" by a James Blunt, funny looking chap with an even funnier voice.

In my present lovesick state, this song - 'an ode to love that cannot be had' as it is described by some junta - sounds wondefully fresh.

The best thing i believe is the guy's voice and his way of singing it.

@#$% !!!

What the heck, I think ive fallen in Love.

It not like, ive fallen in luv with Jessica Biel or Priyanka Chopra - this is a real skin & flesh person

But, Yes, i definitely think that iam in Love - Iam not sure how i arrived this surreal conclusion, i dont even know anything, and dont think we'll ever meet again -

But sure as shit, the bells have been ringing - as they have been all the time.

Hell man, Iam was a fool, a moron and an asshole - probably will continue to be so, ever after.

Bryan crooning

" Every, little, piece of her is right,
Just thinking, of her, takes me through the n(aaaah)ight.... "

in 'Puzzle of Heart' has been replaying in my ears over and over again

Hell, i guess more Insomina and 'Heartache' is in store tonight :)

p.s - this post is not meant to be some kinda practical joke - so,um, be informed likewise
