Movies !

I was going through a lot of movie reviews to check if theres anything worthwhile to pick up in the chor bazaar DVD store for 30 bucks. heres a sample of what i found :)

"The Lady in the water sinks. fails to even start swimming" - There are a few chills and seat-jumps, but no language, nudity or sexuality. Definitely too weird for younger kids. And though it isn’t offensive for teens and up, I question why anyone (other than very hungry fantasy movie fans) would want to put themselves through the agony of this film :)

“You, Me & Dupree” n A summer miss. Not original and frankly not that funny. PG-13. Grade: C

“My Super Ex-Girlfriend” n The other Wilson brother fares a little better. Uma is superb. The plot is unique. A mild affirmative recommendation. PG-13. Grade: B

“Monster House” n Animated movie about a house that doesn’t just have monsters…it IS one. Interesting cast. PG. Not Reviewed.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” n The costumes, the effects, the action, even Johnny Depp: better than the first! Rated: PG-13

Grade: A“Little Man” n Easily the worst release of the year. I didn’t even have to pay and I wanted my money back. Rated: PG-13 Grade: F

The last month, when i was in chen i broke an almost 13 month long movie draught by going to "The da vinci code" matinee with cheta (who incidentally works on Australian time 4Am to 2 PM).

Turned out that (Lav)da vinci code is the ballsiest movie ive seen in quite a while. Poor cheta slept in his seat and was twisting & turning all thru the 3 hours or so and surely must av had nightmares involving leonardo da vinci, the holy grail & the opus dei :)

It is a classic example of how a phenom book can actually be a story line for a REALLY crappy movie. I dont blame Hanks or howard or mademoiselle Tautou - they are all fine - this simply is a wrong book to make into a movie.

Lets see how Howard makes up in another one :)

And hey, did you know - "Shantaram" is being made into a movie with Johnny depp playing Lin Baba and is being co produced by Russel Crowe. and yum yum, priyanka chopra plays Kavita Singh. Dunno whos gonna play Karla. We'll see - now THAT will be one hell of a movie to watch out for.
