Came upon your comment while looking for information on freezing boiled rice. I’m a 60 year old retired psychiatrist. The cycles you are experiencing are a normal part of the transition from a moral based level of development to a spiritual level. William James’ classic, “Varieties of Religious Experience” is an excellent introduction to this process. More along these same lines can be found in Evelyn Underhill’s “Mysticism: The Nature and Development of Man’s Spiritual Consciousness,” Maurice Bucke’s “Cosmic Consciousness,” and Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero with a Thousand Faces.” Subsequently, you might want to study Part IV of “The Urantia Book,” a exhaustive rendition of the Life of Jesus, which reveals something of the developmental process he experienced. After that, you may be ready to begin working with his manual on Spiritual Development: “A Course in Miracles” (ACIM).
