Heres some stuff i looked up when the topic came up with someone.

In actual dollar terms of total GDP (rupees converted to dollars at current exchange rates) India ranks 33.( GDP is the the value of all final goods and services produced within a nation in a given year in case youre confused )

But hear this, India ranks 4th in terms of GDP (total) after USa, china, Japan. calculated after correcting for Purchasing power parity.

This kinda implies that the actual value(not based on going currency exchange rates) of Services, Goods churned out by India is the 4th in the world.

India ranks 125 in Per capita GDP (a measly 3080 USD per head against the USA's 39496 USd or equivatorial guinea's 39444, Below countries like turkmenistan and hey guess who's rank 124, Bhutan. (BAH!)

I know i ud av seen this earlier too. but seeing it now on wikipedia first hand, iam shell shocked.
